Operation Mincemeat: The Corpse Spy

During World War Two, the British military recruited an unlikely spy.

His name was Major Martin, except he didn't exist. He was actually

a dead homeless man dressed in a Royal Marines uniform. Intelligence officers planted fake invasion

plans on his body and dropped him off the coast of Spain. The Nazis found

him, took the bait, and moved thousands of troops to the wrong location.

This corpse literally changed the course of the war. Operation Mincemeat became one of the

most successful deceptions in military history, proving that sometimes the best weapon

isn't a gun or a bomb, but a really good lie.
