Overnight Rules at Bellevue Hotel

Congratulations, you’ve been hired as the Overnight Cleaner at the Bellevue Hotel,

New Orleans. Pay is good as long as you follow the rules. They tell you not

to ask about the guests who never check out. Rule #1: If you smell cigar smoke,

walk the other way. Mr. Langdon doesn’t like people near his room. He’s been dead 73

years. Rule #2: At 2:00 a.m., the elevator will come to the lobby

on its own. Don’t look inside. Don’t ever look inside. Rule #3: Room 313

always looks vacant. It’s not. Rule #4: If you feel someone brush your arm in the

hallway, keep walking. If you turn around, they’ll follow you home.
