Pregnancy Discrimination at Work

I was super excited when I found out I was pregnant, so I told my boss early because I

trusted them. A few days later, I noticed I had stopped getting important emails.

When I asked about it, they said it was “an oversight.” Then I got called

into HR and told they were letting me go — “reorganization,” they said. I asked,

“Are you firing me because I'm pregnant?” and they sugarcoated it, saying it had nothing

to do with that. But the timing alone made me certain. I left with nothing — no severance,

no explanation. A month later, I found out they’d already hired someone else to fill my

exact role — someone who wasn’t pregnant.
