Real Strength After War

Vietnam taught me something nobody talks about. We were pinned down for three days,

food gone, water almost out. This kid next to me, 19 years old,

kept sharing his last canteen with everyone else. On day three, choppers finally

came. That kid collapsed from dehydration. He survived, but here's what

stuck with me. Back home, people called us baby killers, spit on us at airports.

That same kid became a teacher, spent 40 years helping inner city kids. Never asked for

recognition, never complained about how we were treated. Real strength isn't

what you do in war. It's who you become after.
