Kenya’s Constitution,both the 1963 independence version and the transformative 2010 Constitution,was
born from a deep moral and philosophical desire: to rebuild a broken society, to heal from colonial
wounds, and to give equal dignity to every citizen regardless of tribe,
wealth, class, or region. At its heart, the Constitution
was meant to be a social contract: a collective agreement that power shall never again be used
to oppress, that all communities belong, and that Kenya is one nation with
