Rethinking Addiction: Beyond Moral Failings

Ugh I hate to be the asshole here but it does suck to see how the focus/“humor” of his problem being

a moral failing (he is responsible for his addiction) rather than the complex interactions

(bio-psycho-social) of such maladaptive coping mechanisms makes him the problem. I’m not trying to

sound like a wet blanket, but the world we live in, and all of its faults/inequities,

fosters a painfully complex system where we should look at individuals’ problems from a trauma-focused

perspective rather than a moral framework
