Rome Didn’t Fall, It Moved East

The Roman Empire never actually fell in 476 AD like your history teacher told you.

That's just when the western half collapsed. The eastern half, Byzantium,

kept going strong for another thousand years until 1453. They still called themselves Romans,

spoke Greek, and ruled from Constantinople. When the Ottomans finally took the city,

scholars fled west carrying Roman texts and knowledge, sparking the Renaissance. So Rome didn't fall,

it transformed and literally rebooted European civilization. The empire just changed addresses.
