Running in the Dark

I wake up tired of being awake. Like every breath is a mistake. I move through days

on autopilot. Try not to feel what I hide in silence. I don't talk about the things I feel.

They sit too deep, they feel too real. I learned to smile without a reason. Break in places

no one sees in. But every mirror shows a ghost. Someone I don't really know.

I keep my heart under control. So it doesn't break, so it stays cold. I don't scream,

I don't fight. I just fade a little every night. If I stop, I'll fall apart.

So I keep running in the dark.
