It begins with Nidana Sevana: consuming incompatible foods or enduring extreme stress and heat.
The Doshas, primarily Pitta, become turbulent within the digestive system. In the Amashaya,
these aggravated Doshas merge with Ama, the toxic undigested waste. Next comes Agni
Vishthapana: the digestive fire is displaced from the gut into the blood and
lymph circulation. Srotorodha occurs as the heat blocks the sweat channels, trapping the high
temperature within the body. Finally, Jwara Abhivyakti: the internal heat
spreads, manifesting as a high fever and malaise throughout the entire body.
