algae give corals their vibrant colors and up to 95 percent of their food. Without them,
corals turn ghost white and starve within weeks. We've already lost 19 percent of all
reefs worldwide. The Great Barrier Reef, visible from space, saw 90 percent bleaching
in recent years. But here's the twist: some corals in the Persian Gulf survive temperatures that
