Monaco 6 times — 5 consecutively. No driver has ever controlled one circuit like that again.
In Year 1988, secured 13 poles in 16 races. Often over 1 second faster than his
teammate — same car, same fuel, no excuses. In the wet,
engineers estimated senna had 2–3 seconds per lap advantage. The data systems
of the era literally couldn’t explain it. Senna entered a driving “flow state”
before psychology named it — making decisions without conscious thought at 300 km/h.
At the time of his death, Senna already held the all-time pole record.
