Welcome to the magical world of Yalda, the ancient Persian festival of the
winter solstice. Known as Shab e Yalda, it marks the longest and darkest
night of the entire year. For thousands of years, Persians have gathered
to celebrate the victory of light over darkness. The word Yalda means birth,
symbolizing the rebirth of the sun after this long night. As the winter
chill settles outside, the inside of every home glows with warmth and joy.
Families come together, setting aside worries to share stories and traditional Persian treats.
