Shifting Rooms

I started mapping our house because the rooms keep moving. Every night at 3AM, I hear grinding

sounds like furniture dragging across floors. This morning, the kitchen was

where my bedroom should be. Yesterday, the bathroom appeared in the basement.

My parents act like nothing's wrong, eating breakfast in different rooms each day like it's

normal. I've been drawing layouts, comparing them. In three weeks,

I've documented forty-seven different configurations. But here's what terrifies me.

I found my dad's journal from 1987. He drew the exact same maps as a kid. Same house.

Same shifting rooms. Last page just says, whatever you do, don't be awake when it moves.
