Silent Struggles

I didn't hang myself. I didn't bleed out. I just took

too much quiet, and let it pull me under. I swallowed the

silence 'til it sat in my chest. Wasn't chasing death, just wanted some

rest. Too young to name it, just knew I was tired.

Let the numb creep up, let it climb higher. Bottles on the

dresser like soldiers in rows. Each one saying, "Feel less," nobody knows.

I didn't scream, "Help." I faded instead. Let sleep hit deep,

let it finish my head. Cross that line where the lights go dim.
