Slovak Family Traditions and Holidays

Today, I would like to talk about Slovak families, meeting relatives,

and spending time together during holidays. In Slovakia, family is very important

in everyday life. Most people live in small households with parents and one or two child-children.

Even though there are not many people in one home, relationships with grandparents and

other relatives are very strong. Meeting relatives is very common in Slovakia.

People often go to visit their grandparents on weekends or on special days. When they meet,

they usually spend several hours together. They talk about school, jobs,

and everyday life. Very often, everyone sits at the table and drinks tea or coffee and
