Social credit party of canada (1930s). Back in the Great depression (1935), people were down
bad, broke, jobless, and blaming the system.
Then came William "bible bill" Aberhart came through with a new vibe: fix the economy for
the people, not the banks. He followed C.H. Douglas's idea that people make stuff
but cant afford to buy it - total econ fail. The squad's fix? drop "social credit"
payments- monthly cash so regular folks could spend again and spark the economy.
Their whole mood was help the people, not the banks - faith, fairness,
and finances all in one. Ideology: welfare capitalism, keep capitalism,
