SpongeBob Made Bugs Terrifying

I think SpongeBob gave me an irrational fear of bugs. Because as a kid, I played in the

dirt like it was my full‑time job. Rollie pollies. Worms. Ants.

Bare hands. No fear. I was basically part of the ecosystem. Then I watched that

SpongeBob episode. You know the one. The butterfly. The close‑ups. The hyper‑realistic

eyes. The breathing. The sound effects. My brain never recovered. Because now I’m

an adult, a butterfly lands on me and I’m like, “Oh cool. Guess I’ll die.”

One mosquito enters the room and suddenly I’m Batman. Lights off. Eyes on the ceiling.

No sleep. I see a spider and I don’t even try to kill it. I just accept this
