Starvation as a Weapon in Syria

Your identity literally decided if you got to eat during the Syrian civil war. It wasn't just about

bombs; every single side weaponized starvation based on your sect. In Daraya,

the regime starved a Sunni city into submission. But then Sunni rebels did the exact same

thing to Shia towns, blocking water and meds just because of who lived there. ISIS took it even

further, building a whole bureaucracy where you only got electricity if you pledged total

loyalty. Food wasn't humanitarian aid anymore; it was a weapon used to control exactly

who lived and who died.
