Statik Selektah Slams Spotify's WhoSampled Acquisition

Hip hop is officially under attack now that Spotify just bought the ultimate cheat code for snitching

on producers. Legendary producer Statik Selektah is absolutely losing it over the news

that the streaming giant acquired WhoSampled. If you do not know, that is the database that exposes exactly

where beats come from. Statik calls this sample snitching and says it is straight

up culture vulture insanity. He claims this move is going to crush underground artists

who build their sound on obscure samples but cannot afford the expensive clearance fees.
