In 1518, a woman in Strasbourg started dancing in the street and couldn't
stop. Within a week, 34 others joined her. Within a month, 400
people were dancing uncontrollably. Some danced until they collapsed from exhaustion or even died.
Doctors were baffled. They actually prescribed more dancing, thinking people needed
to dance it out of their systems. To this day, nobody knows what caused
the dancing plague. Some think it was mass hysteria, others blame contaminated food.
But one thing is certain, this bizarre event really happened and
remains one of history's strangest unsolved mysteries.
