Everyone Could See My Rating—Except Me The update rolled out overnight.

Everyone got a number above their head. I didn’t. At first, I thought it was

a glitch. People treated me differently. Some were overly polite.

Others avoided me completely. I asked my coworker what my number was. He laughed nervously

and said, “You don’t want to know.” Over time, I noticed patterns.

When people lied, their numbers dropped. When they argued, it dropped faster. When they smiled,

it went up. That night, I found the setting. “Self-visibility: OFF.”

I turned it on. For half a second, my number appeared. It wasn’t low. It was blank.
