Surviving Briefly in Space

Attention: Your body would actually survive in space for about 15 seconds before losing consciousness.

Contrary to Hollywood movies, you wouldn't instantly freeze or explode. The vacuum would

cause the water on your tongue and eyes to boil, but your blood stays liquid thanks to

your circulatory system acting like a pressurized container. You'd have just enough time to potentially

be rescued if you're pulled back into an airlock quickly. Space is dangerous, but not quite the

instant death sentence we've been led to believe.
