Sustainment Is Fires

In combat, nothing happens by accident. Fires are planned. Guns are positioned.

Targets are prioritized. Effects are delivered on purpose. Artillery doesn’t fire from the rear

and hope it reaches the fight. Sustainment is not background activity. It is fires

by another means. Fuel, water, ammunition, food,

repair parts, these are not supplies. They are combat effects.

Just as fires prioritize targets, sustainment prioritizes maneuver forces. Support is not

equal everywhere. It is proportional to the force that must fight and win.

We don’t shoot artillery evenly across the battlefield. We mass effects where they matter.
