Taken on a Quiet Rainy Night

I was home alone that night. The house was too quiet. Rain tapped softly

against the windows as I sat on the couch, scrolling on my phone.

Then I heard a noise from the back. At first, I thought it was the wind.

But two men burst in, hoodies on, and grabbed me. They tied my hands

and pulled a bag over my head. They tore through the house, asking if anyone

else was home. “No. I’m alone,” I whispered. Then they dragged me outside into

the rain and shoved me into an SUV. I had no idea if I’d ever see my house again.
