The Alpha and the Omega

The apostle John, exiled on the island of Patmos, found himself overwhelmed with fear as a divine

vision unfolded before him. But suddenly, a voice like a trumpet sounded behind him:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “the One who is, who was,

and who is to come — the Almighty.” John turned and saw Jesus — not as the humble teacher

walking dusty roads, but as the glorified Son of God. The One who existed before creation.

The One who will reign after the final chapter of history has closed. Jesus spoke again:

“Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives. I was dead… and
