Cholas started as a very small country on the banks of Kaveri River, which is indicated

with an orange color in this map. Later, Rajaraja Chola and Rajendra Chola were

the true reasons behind the expansion of Chola Kingdom. They were too powerful, and Rajaraja Chola

started the expansion on the south and southwest region, which is followed by his son,

Rajendra Chola. Rajendra Chola has got a name, Gengai Konda Cholan, which means the

conqueror of Ganga, because he expanded the kingdom to Ganga basin and made Cholas an empire.

They even have super powerful naval forces, and using that they have gained control over many foreign

lands. These foreign lands are called Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand,
