The Ancient Reason We Shake Hands

Have you ever wondered why we shake hands when we meet someone? I mean, we could wave or

bow. So why did shaking hands become the universal greeting? Well,

back in medieval Europe, strangers would shake hands to show they weren't carrying

weapons. The up-and-down motion would cause any hidden daggers to fall out,

and extending your right hand proved you weren't reaching for your sword, which is why handshakes
