a farmhouse near Redfield, South Dakota was abandoned overnight. A human-shaped presence

appeared in the kitchen doorway, fully visible, breathing loudly, but assembled wrong—its

body faced forward while its head and joints were twisted completely backward. When the father

shouted, it moved instantly, sliding across the floor without turning, limbs snapping into

new positions. His body lifted off the ground and twisted mid-air, bones bending until

the sound inside him stopped suddenly. The air around the rest of the family thickened,

crushing their chest, doors refusing to open as furniture folded inward under invisible pressure.
