The Breathing Codex

There's a book that opens by itself and releases creatures into our world. In 1614,

monks sealed the Codex Animarum after witnesses reported shadowy figures stepping out from

its pages during midnight readings. The Vatican archived it, forbidding anyone

from speaking its inscriptions aloud. Collectors who later acquired copies reported identical

phenomena: the text glowing at specific hours, whispers in dead languages,

and shapes moving at the edge of vision. One owner in Prague documented symbols that rearranged

themselves between viewings, as if the book was rewriting its own contents.
