The Burden of Choice

We think we’re powerful. But our “superpower” might be the most useless one of all. We can build cities,

shape mountains, split atoms... Yet a jellyfish can outlive us. A cheetah outruns

us. A falcon outsees us. And a tree—yes, a tree—outlives

entire civilizations. We call ourselves intelligent, but dolphins recognize themselves in mirrors

before our toddlers do. Octopuses dream. Crows plan. Ants farm.

Bees vote. And somehow, we still believe we are the apex of evolution.

Our “superpower”? It’s not strength. Not speed. Not senses. It’s imagination—

the one thing that lets us see what doesn’t exist... and destroy what does.
