The Cat Who Waited

Every night, when the city became quiet, a small cat sat beneath the old

streetlight. Her fur was damp from the rain. Her paws were cold. But she never left.

No one knew where she came from. No one knew her name. She didn't cry.

She didn't chase cars. She simply waited. People passed by with umbrellas and

hurried steps. Some noticed her. Most didn't. But the little cat watched every face

as if she was searching for someone she remembered or maybe someone she hoped would come.
