The Clever Monkey and the Crocodile

The Monkey and the Crocodile Once upon a time, there lived a clever monkey on a big

jamun tree near a river. The tree was full of sweet fruits, and the monkey was

very happy. In the river lived a crocodile. One day, the monkey threw

some jamun fruits into the river. “Thank you!” said the crocodile. Soon,

the monkey and the crocodile became good friends. Every day, the monkey shared

fruits with the crocodile. The crocodile took the fruits home to his wife.

But the crocodile’s wife was greedy. “These fruits are so sweet,” she said. “I want to eat the

monkey’s heart!” The crocodile was sad but agreed to trick the monkey. The next day,
