The Dancing Plague of 1518

In July 1518, people in Strasbourg began dancing uncontrollably in the streets. Dozens joined,

and soon hundreds were dancing day and night. Some collapsed from exhaustion.

Others danced themselves to death. Historians still argue: was it poisoned bread,

mass hysteria, or something stranger? The Dancing Plague remains one of the weirdest events

in history.
