What if you pitched your tent on a remote mountain slope... ...and in the
dead of night, something forced you to flee into the freezing darkness—half-dressed, barefoot,
terrified beyond reason? Would you run? This really happened. Northern Ural Mountains, Soviet Russia,
February 1959. Nine experienced young hikers, led by Igor Dyatlov,
set up camp on the snowy slopes of Kholat Syakhl—Dead Mountain. They eat dinner,
laugh, take photos... then something goes horribly wrong. In panic,
they slash their way out of the tent from the inside and flee downhill—without coats,
boots, or flashlights—into minus-30-degree winds. Searchers find the tent weeks later:
