The Evolution of RoboCop

From steel and blood in 1987 to sleek armor in 2014 — every RoboCop has evolved,

but the mission stayed the same: Serve the public trust. Protect the innocent.

Uphold the law. It started with Peter Weller, the original RoboCop in 1987,

age 40 — a performance that was part machine, part tragedy. He returned in RoboCop 2 (1990),

refining the voice, the walk — the man trapped inside the metal. Then Robert John

Burke stepped in for RoboCop 3 (1993), at 33 — lighter tone, heavier armor,

but missing the raw emotion. Decades later, Joel Kinnaman, age 34,

rebooted the role in 2014 — human emotions fighting against corporate control.
