Most people think penicillin saved millions, but a forgotten woman actually made it possible.
Margaret Hutchinson Rousseau was a chemical engineer who designed the first facility to mass produce
it. Before her, the miracle drug couldn't reach soldiers dying on battlefields.
Thousands perished from infected wounds. Rousseau cracked the code, scaling production from
four hundred patients to forty thousand lives monthly. While Fleming got the Nobel Prize,
Rousseau's name vanished from history books. She broke every barrier. Makes you wonder
how many other heroes we've erased. Who else are we forgetting right now?
