In 1919, Boston, Massachusetts was hit by a 25-foot-tall wave <break time='1s' />
of sticky, hot molasses. A massive storage tank, holding 2.
3 million gallons of molasses suddenly burst. A wave moving at 35 miles per hour
smashed through the streets crushing buildings and sweeping away people and horses.
The thick, sugary goo trapped everything it touched. The disaster killed 21 people and injured
150. It took weeks to clean up and residents claimed they could still smell the
sweet scent on hot days for decades. Follow 'The Bizarre Truth' for more.
