The Haunting of Hoia Baciu Forest

A Romanian hiker reported seeing a little girl wandering alone in Hoia Baciu Forest — the same

girl who disappeared five years earlier. Police found her footprints… but they were spaced

far too wide for a child her size. Hoia Baciu Forest, often called “the world’s most haunted

forest,” has a long history of disappearances. But none disturbed police more than the 2013 case of

eight-year-old Alina Popescu, who vanished during a family picnic. Search teams combed

every meter of the clearing where she was last seen, but no trace of the girl ever surfaced.
