Hollowridge Part IV – Shadows and Secrets The air presses against my chest,

heavy, suffocating. Every step feels wrong. Shadows stretch

and twist unnaturally, following, mirroring my movements. I sense them, patient,

intelligent, waiting. The markings appear again, repeated along the

walls. Lena traces them aloud, murmuring that it’s a path,

a warning. Each turn loops back to the same place. The mine doesn’t

just trap us—it toys with us, reshaping us. I see it then—a shape crouched in

the corner, human-like but wrong. Its head tilts, observing. My muscles lock.
