This park ranger survived seven lightning strikes and lived to tell about it. Roy Sullivan was
just doing his job in Virginia's forests when nature decided to use him as target practice.
Between 1942 and 1977, lightning found him seven different times.
First strike burned his toenail off. Second one knocked him unconscious. The third set his
hair on fire. But Roy kept showing up to work like nothing happened. By strike number
seven, people called him the Human Lightning Rod. What are the odds
of getting struck by lightning once? One in a million. Seven times? Basically impossible.
Yet Roy survived them all.
