The Immortality of Honey

Archaeologists cracked open ancient Egyptian tombs and discovered jars of honey sitting there for 3,000

years. When they opened them, the honey was still perfectly edible.

No mold, no spoilage, nothing. Turns out honey is basically immortal

because of its unique chemistry. It has almost no water and is super acidic,

which means bacteria cannot survive in it. The bees even add special enzymes

that break down into hydrogen peroxide, creating a natural preservative. So that jar in your

kitchen could theoretically last forever if stored properly. Ancient Egyptians knew what they were

doing when they buried their pharaohs with honey for the afterlife.
