THE ISLAND THAT VANISHED

In 1972, a small research vessel charted an unmarked island in

the South Pacific. The crew reported unusual magnetic readings and strange lights hovering above the

trees. They named it “ Isla Perdida” — The Lost Island. Captain Moreno recorded

in his log: “Compass spins wildly. GPS shows a location that does not exist.

Clouds above form strange geometric patterns.” On the first night, one crew member

vanished. No struggle, no footprints. The only clue was a faint

green glow coming from the jungle. The remaining scientists set out with flashlights,

following the glow. They discovered large, perfectly circular impressions in the ground. In the center,
