The Isolated Sentinelese of North Sentinel Island (with music)

Have you ever heard of an island where outsiders are completely forbidden — and those who try to

visit never return? Deep in the Bay of Bengal lies North Sentinel Island, one of the most

isolated places on Earth. It’s part of India’s Andaman Islands, but the Indian government

has declared it entirely off-limits. The island is home to the Sentinelese, an Indigenous tribe

believed to have lived here for over 60,000 years — completely untouched by modern civilization.

Every attempt to contact them has ended in hostility. The Sentinelese fiercely protect

their home, firing arrows at boats and helicopters that come too close. Their isolation

is so complete that we don’t know their language, population, or how they’ve survived
