The Knocks at 2:17

“When I was little, my parents told me the house made noises at night because it was old.”

“I believed them… until the night I answered one back.” Every night at exactly 2:17 a.m.,

I’d hear three knocks on my bedroom wall. Not the door. The wall. I asked my parents.

They said it was pipes. Pipes don’t knock back. One night,

half asleep, I tapped the wall three times. It answered. Immediately.

I froze. My phone lit up at the same time. “Why did you stop?” The message wasn’t

from a contact. It was from… my address. I never knocked again.

But every night at 2:17… It still does.
