The Lost Roanoke Colony Mystery

In 1587, a group of about 115 English settlers arrived on an island called Roanoke,

in what is now North Carolina, USA. They came to build one of the first

English colonies in America. The leader, John White, had to return to

England to get supplies. But because of war, he couldn’t come back for three years. When he finally

returned in 1590, something terrifying had happened. 👉 The entire colony was gone.

No people No bodies No signs of a fight Houses were carefully taken down

The only clue left behind was a single word carved into a wooden post: “CROATOAN”

It was the name of a nearby island. But when search teams went there… 👉 They found nothing.
