Did you know a lost world once lay beneath the waters of the North Sea? Thousands of years
ago, this was Doggerland — a vast landmass linking Britain to Europe.
It was home to rivers, forests, and even human settlements during the last Ice Age.
Fishermen have dredged up mammoth bones, antlers, and even tools — evidence of life
on this vanished land. Archaeologists believe it was a thriving home to Mesolithic
people, rich in wildlife and resources. At its peak, Doggerland may have
stretched over 100,000 square miles — larger than many modern countries. But rising seas
after the Ice Age slowly swallowed Doggerland, until it disappeared beneath the waves
