The Midnight Caroler

Every Christmas Eve, a small town in the Midwest reported the same thing.

A lone caroler would knock on doors just after midnight. No coat. No breath in the

freezing air. And when people opened the door… he sang a single verse.

Always in a soft, broken voice. And always using a specific name. At first,

families laughed it off. Until they realized the name he sang… belonged to someone

who had died that year. After the song ended, the caroler would smile…

step backward into the snow… and vanish. The following Christmas Eve,

the caroler returned. But this time… he sang the name of the person standing at the door.
