The Midnight Watcher

It started three weeks ago — a motion alert from the monitor app I never downloaded. When I opened it,

the screen showed a dim room, and a figure standing in the corner. Perfectly still.

Facing the camera. I tried deleting the app. It reinstalled itself. Every night at 3:12

AM, another alert. The figure moved closer each time. By day 10,

it stood right next to the lens, breathing loud enough to distort the microphone. Last night…

the alert didn’t show the strange room. It showed my bedroom. And the camera was

pointed at me sleeping. And just before the feed cut out— I heard a whisper: “Tonight… you’ll

finally wake up.”
