THE MIGHTY ANGEL AND THE LITTLE BOOK Revelation 10 In Revelation 10, the pace slows again.

After the trumpets and warnings of chapter 9, God gives John another pause — not to frighten

him, but to prepare him. John sees a mighty angel come down from heaven,

clothed with a cloud. A rainbow rests upon the angel’s head, his face shines

like the sun, and his feet are like pillars of fire. The imagery is powerful,

but it is also familiar. The rainbow reminds us of God’s covenant and mercy, even in the midst

of judgment. The angel places one foot on the sea and one on the earth,

showing authority over all creation. In his hand is a little book, open.
