Most people think flying is dangerous at 35,000 feet. It’s not. The most dangerous

part of a flight happens much lower. Takeoff and landing. This is when the plane is slow,

close to the ground, and has the least room for error. That’s why pilots are most focused

during these moments. At cruising altitude, the aircraft is stable, monitored,

and predictable. Down low, everything happens fast. So if you ever feel

nervous mid-flight, remember this: If you’ve already taken off safely, you’re past the

hardest part.
